My WIP version of a 7th Harry Potter book- not Deathly Hallows compliant: entirely different version of post-HBP events.

Rather to my own surprise, I wrote a brief Harry Potter/No Country for Old Men fic out of the blue last night; no Deathly Hallows spoilers. (In fact, this is not Deathly Hallows compliant in any way.) Enjoy.

Recently, the most estimable [livejournal.com profile] bodlon mentioned that he'd like to read Tron/Big Lebowski crossover fic. This being much too good an idea to be allowed to lie fallow, I became curious- could one take quite possibly the laziest man in Los Angeles county, and put him at the heart of an action movie, with even a half-serious (if only half, mind you- this is hopefully more of a "fish out of water" story, less of a crack!fest) story resulting? A couple of re-viewings later, I had something that I called...

Guys, I've figured out why The Donald is obsessed with Canada: it's because he's channeling his spiritual mentor, Benedict Arnold.

MEME ON TWITTER: what’s a male acting performance where he’s scooped out his own eyes and given himself over to a dimension of pure chaos?

Still trying to figure out what led Hannibal Lecter to say "Good nutrition's given you some length of bone..." to a character played by Jodie Foster (5'3").

I'm going through my books in preparation for my move at the end of August; in many cases, it's the first time I've really gone through all the boxes I packed back during the rout from California. Two crucial finds, I had long since relegated myself to having lost:

1) Volumes I-V of THE COMPLETE STORIES OF THEODORE STURGEON. These are the volumes given to me by my friends Velma (now deceased) and Soren, about which I have Feelings, beyond the treasure of the stories (and Paul Williams' story notes) themselves.

2) My high school yearbooks, tucked into one of which were some writings of mine from high school, including a rather puckish sequel to THE EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS ON MAN-IN-THE-MOON MARIGOLDS (no, the Incredible Hulk isn't involved); a touching glimpse at younger Fred.

Star Wars having been released on this date in 1977 and Alien likewise in '79, Happy International Grungy Starship Day!

In my stygian heart, I want every daughter born because abortions are overturned to be named Hillary, as a reminder to everyone who didn't turn out in '16.

3.) All That Jazz
4.) Star Wars
5.) Romero's Knightriders (see #2)
